The State Epic Swim is a weekend full of open water swimming. There are children’s 100m and 500m swims plus 1km, 2.5km, 5km and 10km swims for adults. The State AquaBlacks will be onsite to cheers on and support all participants
In conjunction with the State Epic Swim, Swimming New Zealand will hold the State New Zealand 5km and 10km Open Water Championships, where New Zealand’s top open water swimmers will compete for the New Zealand title, as well as selection for the final qualification event for the 2012 London Olympics.
There will also be a Masters Classic race. This will be a 2.5km race where $5 from each entry will go back to New Zealand Masters Swimming. You don't need to be a member of a masters club to enter into this race.
The State Epic Swim Festival provides an event that caters for all fitness levels and ages showcasing one of the most spectacular destinations, Lake Taupo.
