Three actors on three treadmills for sixty minutes. It's as simple as that in Standstill, the critically acclaimed play from the Rebel Alliance.
Inspired by True Stories, Standstill is a sharp and constantly sweaty dark comedy about the hopes, dreams and fears we have for our lives. The Production - and its three actors struggling to keep up as the pace inevitably cranks up to the max - had the critics raving during the 2011 Auckland Fringe Festival.
“Writer and director Anders Falstie-Jensen has woven an impressively-crafted, snappily-written whole out of snippets of modern life and his wry vision of cyclists, doctors and Aussie tour guides is well-delivered by the three chameleon actors”–NZ Herald
“I have a suspicion that if Standstill debuted in Britain it would be hailed as an instant contemporary classic.”– theatrescenes.co.nz
Doctors, hairdressers, German tourists and world champion cyclists… it’s all there in this provocative sweat dripping snapshot of modern life that is bound to leave you breathless.
