Solid Energy Coast Kids' Triathlon Series

Is about getting out there training, giving it your best shot on race day and having heaps of fun along the way. The series is open to anyone aged 8-15 years, and consists of a swim, followed by a cycle and then a run. There are no place-getters as the series is non-competitive and designed to encourage participation.

2012 Series Dates include:
Greymouth: 19th February 2012
Westport: 11th March 2012
Hokitika: 25th March 2012

How long is it?
8-10 years: swim 100m - bike 4km - run 1.5km
* 11-15 years: swim 200m - bike 8km - run 1.5km

* please note the Greymouth triathlon is for children aged 8-13 years. Youth aged 14-18 years (or year 9-13 years) can enter our new event the Solid Energy Triathlon Challenge which is held on the same day.

Can we enter as a team if we are in different age groups?
Yes. You can enter a team that consists of individuals in different age groups however each team member must complete the distance required of their age group.

When does the race start?
All triathlons will start at 11am with the first wave of swimmers. However you will need to collect your race packs & get your race number before the compulsory race brief at 10.30am.

What major spot prizes are up for grabs?
Greymouth - HeliPro helicopter ride and Colls Sports World & Avanti Pro-Cycles bike
Hokitika - The Warehouse sponsored bikes (1 girl's & 1 boy's) and Franz Josef Glacier package - Glacier Helicopter flight & Glacier Hot Pools family pass.
Westport - to be confirmed.

Where can I get an entry form?
Register online www.sportwestcoast.org.nz from the 16th December or collect a form from:

-Coll’s Sports World, Mackay Street, Greymouth
-Solid Energy Centre in Westport
-Westland District Council, Weld Street, Hokitika

Entries cost $20 per individual - teams $15 per person

When do entries close?
Race 1 Greymouth - 10th February 2012
Race 2 Westport - 2nd March 2012
Race 3 Hokitika - 16th March 2012
Please note: late entries will not be eligible for major spot prizes.

No registrations will be taken on the day.
