Eternal romantic Luke Dallow loves nothing more than long walks along the beach with his beautiful wife and watching the sun set.

So in a bid to help others discover love this Valentine’s Day, Luke is running the first annual Singles Awareness Day.

Kiwis seeking love are encouraged to bring in a photo of their ex, and the good people at Hummingbird will shred it while the erstwhile lover enjoys a complimentary Valentine’s cocktail.

If the tragically spurned then happens to find love at Hummingbird that night, they will be entered in a draw to win a mystery trip for two with Air NZ.

All-in-all, a brilliant nod in the direction of the day that celebrates eternal love and also a chance to make new friends.
