The Shoe Clinic Asics 5K Series is one of the most popular and longest established running events in Christchurch. It is run over three laps of a 1.7km course in Hagley Park North with five races held on Tuesday evenings in January and February each summer. Each evening there are races for children 14 years and under, Athletics New Zealand registered athletes and for recreational runners and walkers. All levels of ability are catered for from first timers to some of the best runners in New Zealand.
If you are new to running this is a great opportunity to keep your New Year's resolution to start exercising in a fun atmosphere with a group of other runners and walkers. If you are an experienced runner this is the best possible start to the year's events and your lead-in to longer and tougher runs.
