101 Beginner Sewing - Multi-choice series.
For absolute beginners, a series that’s quick, flexible and affordable. Learn professional tips about: the sewing machine, marking, grainlines, pinning, cutting, stitching pressing, supplies/tools and fabric info. Held over four weeks this series gives you a great beginner foundation, designed to cover sewing basics, as you easily gain more confidence, speed and skills. Enrol in just the drawstring bag class/part one, or the whole series.
Commercial Pattern Series - beginner plus the next step & beyond
Beginner level one: This is another great beginners option. In this series you will learn sewing machine basics, laying fabric, grainlines, pinning, cutting, pressing, supplies/tools, how to read and understand the commercial pattern instruction sheets, including; commercial pattern & sewing terms, symbols, simple adaptions and more sewing techniques and professional tips. You will purchase a commercial pattern from a large pre-selected list of patterns, (beginners: skirts, toddlers/kids, aprons, bags, cushions, and PJs, pants & the next step: beginner one options plus tops, dresses) and complete the course with a finished garment.
Enrolments open to adults and teens 14yrs+ (12yrs+ if enrolling with an adult).
No experience necessary, for the beginner level, however you will find it easier if you have completed part one or more of the 101 beginner sewing series or have similar experience. The next step requires beginner experience.
