3 Day Workshop (11th, 12th & 13th July)
10am til 3pm daily
In this three day workshop you will translate your favourite painting, sketch or photograph into a treasured 3D bas-relief's sculpture. Use an easy and fun layering technique to build up a relief.
Working in oil based Classic Clay, Joanne will take you through some fun techniques which will enable you to capture gesture and create a likeness.
This workshop will enable you to re-create depth, perspective and 'colour' in your sculpture using simple techniques to capture the light in your work.
You will go home with a completed tile or plaque ready for display in your studio or to go to mould.
No prior sculpting experience necessary. Beginners to Intermediate level.
Sculpture artist tutor: Joanne Sullivan-Gessler
As a professional sculptor with over 25 years of sculpting experience, Joanne has a string of prestigious commissions and international museum exhibitions to her name. Joanne studied sculpture under numerous “Master Sculptors” in the USA, and in recent years Instructed by invitation at the prestigious American Academy of Equine Art in Kentucky, USA.
Joanne’s most noted sculptures are “Balance” (bronze) - a rooster toppling a chair in Albany Village and more recently the full life sized bronze of Phar Lap. This sculpture based in Timaru, has received international notoriety.
Joanne is an elected full member of the American Academy of Equine Art and an Associate Member of the National Sculpture Society of New York.
