The hoodie has become a strong symbol associated with youth culture.

Featured in this exhibition is the work by designer Sam Phillips. Sam's exquisite t-shirt designs are super popular, and he can be found working from the Print Mighty printing studio based at Lindale on the Kapiti Coast.

Ranga Tuhi was the guest artist and tutor for a workshop held at Pataka and Mana College. The result of the workshop was a range of hoodie designs created by students from Mana College, Aotea College, Bishop Viard College and Porirua College. The designs were printed at Print Mighty. Visual art students from Whitireia also transformed the hoodie with a range of creative responses.

Kindly sponsored by Porirua's Creative Communities funding, the Hoodies exhibition is Pataka's second exhibition celebrating the youth of Porirua.
