Winter is the season of cold and darkness and little growth. There is a winter of the soul too, which need not be a winter of discontent! Growth in the life of the Spirit is marked by times of reversal, even of darkness. We shall consider this perhaps less-favoured path to enlightenment, grace and even joy!
