Once the sun goes down, sixteen select artists activate and brighten public spaces, buildings, objects and surfaces along Auckland’s waterfront.
A kaleidoscopic underwater dance and a galleon ship caught in an ocean storm will form part of an illuminated journey of discovery along Auckland’s inner city waterfront from the 20th of July.
Peppered between Britomart in the east and Silo Park in the west, the illuminated artworks allude to the guiding principles of Matariki, the Maori New Year.
This project is collaboration between the artists, Britomart, Ports of Auckland and Auckland Council organisations.
