Rashani began singing at the age of twelve, inspired by Joan Baez, whom she first heard at a Civil Rights march led by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the early 1960s. She has since recorded fourteen albums, has offered concerts throughout the world, and sings in several languages. She has led ceremonies at Stonehenge, Callenish and Glastonbury, and has sung in Cahors, Chartres and Notre Dame cathedrals in France, at Findhorn in Scotland, as well as in the Golden Temple and the Taj Mahal in India. In the late 80s and early 90s Rashani sang for Thich Nhat Hanh at Plum Village in France, and at his retreats and public dharma talks in the USA. For more information, see www.Rashani.com.
"Rashani's music invites us into a world where we can find the healing power within us that we thirst for in this time. The sound and the lyrics interweave to remind us once again of the ancient wisdom that was ours. Rashani has - and is - a powerful gift for us." - Joanna Macy, author of World as Lover, World as Self.
Tickets available from the Theatre's TimeOut Café (open 9-3 Monday-Saturday).
