In association with the "Sounds like us" exhibition at Pataka - celebrating the 2011 centenary of the first radio signals broadcast in New Zealand.
Porirua library are excited to welcome Prue Langbein for a very special after-school story time.
Prue has been working for Radio New Zealand for over 20 years, initially as a story producer for the children's programmes ears. She has made hundreds of New Zealand story programmes for young listeners.
She now works in the drama department and is in charge of Weekend Story time, among other roles. On her visit, Prue will weave the magic of radio stories into the world of children's imagination, taking them on an adventure with characters that come alive through the sounds and senses of radio waves.
Children will be treated to a wonderful mix of stories from the Radio New Zealand Story time collection, featuring New Zealand writers and actors. This event is aimed at year one-eights, and will be followed by an extension activity.
