If you could live your life over, what would you do with it? What would you change? What regrets would you act on? Would you still watch all of Casablanca knowing that they never actually say “Play It Again, Sam”?
These questions are posed, pondered and potentially even answered in Play It Again, Sams - an exciting collaboration of two of New Zealand’s finest young comedians in an innovative comedic showcase.
Winner of the 2011 Wellington Raw Comedy Quest Sam Smith teams up with Dunedin headliner Sam Irwin for an eclectic mix of stand-up, improvisation, music, anecdotes and backflips.
Sam Smith is an accomplished comedian, writer, improviser, actor, director and musician, having performed throughout New Zealand for over ten years. He writes for TV3′s 7 Days, and performs regularly in the Wellington stand-up scene.
Sam Irwin began doing comedy in 2009 with two man sketch group Velcro Poodle, a venture credited by Critic Magazine as ‘whipping the Dunedin comedy scene into shape’. Since going solo he has performed over 100 times in various Dunedin, Timaru and Wellington venues, performing sell-out shows Academy Comedy Week (Fringe 2011) and AntiSocial Tap’s Big Names (Dunedin 2011).
“Irwin never fails to impress me” - Jen Aitkin, Critic
“Outstanding” - Johnsonville Library
