As part of the display Formal Abstraction: Panting and Sydow, Peter Trevelyan, a Wellington based sculptor is coming to Te Manawa to be Artist-in-Residence (AIR). Peter will create an intricate graphite sculptural work in the gallery that reflects the principles of formal abstraction – the investigations of the properties of line and form.
Come and watch Peter at work in Gallery 3 from Monday 2 to Friday 13 July 2012, during opening hours 10am-4.30pm
Peter will also be creating a participatory installation that encourages visitors, young and the young at heart to contribute to a sculpture. Everyone is welcome to participate with Peter in the creation of this collective piece. A function and an artist talk will be held on Thursday 5 July at 6.00 pm for both Art Society members and general public.
