Paul Winspear is a Golden Bay potter of national repute. He is admired for his strong use of colour, contrasting finishes and attention to function and form. Originally from Yorkshire, he trained under the acclaimed Australian potter Victor Greenaway before moving to New Zealand in 1980 and working full time as a studio potter specialising in domesticware. He is currently based at the remote but idyllic locale of Tukurua Beach, Golden Bay.

This exhibition is a survey of his work from the 1980s to today. It will showcase a range of work selected from the artist’s collection and demonstrates his development, range and skill as a potter.

Artist’s floortalk with Paul Winspear: Saturday 11 February 2 pm.
