Learn how to create a ready-to-sew pattern from your favourite garments.
Bring along a garment or two you'd like to duplicate. You'll be shown the techniques to transfer a garment to paper without taking it apart, and then produce a complete pattern ready for sewing under the guidance of an experienced designer and patternmaker.
It is best to choose a simple garment to start with - for example a basic top or skirt. Trousers, fitted tops and dresses are more difficult and you will need to work between classes to make a pattern for these. Some sewing experience is required as you will need some knowledge of garment construction to create your pattern.
Pattern making paper is included in course fee.
Please email co-ordinator for full details of what to bring (including where to purchase the materials) info@leisuretimelearning.co.nz. Max 8.
Four x 2 hr Wed sessions, starting 14 November, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

"I enjoyed that it was so casual. Everybody could laugh about their mistakes, nobody was ashamed to ask for help when they got something wrong." - Hannah Clarke
