Oceania Storm is a 10 piece reggae band, originally formed in 2006, Ranui (West Auckland), where it is currently based. It was formed originally as an 8 piece band but has grown over the years to a 10 piece. Oceania Storm has deep religious roots, with the name given by the church minister, of which most band members attend. Oceania refers to our origin, coming from the small Pacific Islands in the large Pacific Ocean, and Storm which refers to the common hurricanes and storms that come and go in the Pacific Islands. There’s both the positive and negative impact of these storms. The negative effects are that it is destructible and causes a lot of havoc, damage, and fear among the islands in the Pacific. However, there are positives to it as well, it means a clean out, a new beginning and a new start. So is the focus of the band, and that is to provide new music that will have long, lasting, and positive impact on people!

Oceania Storm music is a reggae band with a combination of funk, rnb, soul, Pacific Island and Aotearoa flava. Oceania Storm have 3 lead singers (2 females and 1 male), who have unique vocal ranges, and combine to give powerful and rich harmonies. Joining their line up recently are professional musicians Richard Tali from Ardijah on saxophone, flute, and guitars, and Lisiate Langi on drums from Three Houses Down. A brass section (2 trumpets and 1 trombone) will be added to the line up in the next couple of months. Oceania Storm band members comes from a very diverse culture from Tongan, Niuean, Rarotongan, Maori, English, and NZ European ethnic background. The band’s current lineups;
