Te Kōkī, New Zealand School of Music, in collaboration with Saxcess, New Zealand's premiere classical saxophone quartet, is hosting a Classical Saxophone Festival over Queen's Birthday Weekend.

The Festival culminates in this public Finale Concert which will feature ensemble performances including a saxophone orchestra of up to 20 players. The venue will be Te Marae on the top level of Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand. All are welcome.

The Festival, based at the NZSM Kelburn Campus, involves classical saxophone players of diverse backgrounds and experience from all over the country. Over two and a half days, the participants will take part in or observe masterclasses, concerts, individual and ensemble tuition from some of our most experienced and accomplished classical saxophonists. These tutors include NZSM Lecturer and Wind Instruments Coordinator Deborah Rawson, NZSM Artist Teacher Simon Brew and alumnus Hayden Sinclair.
