Using the platform of Ableton Live participants in the NZ Music Mash Up workshop will be immersed in the exciting world of digital music production. Each participant will be guided through the various aspects of creating a contemporary mash up remix piece, by transforming songs by New Zealand artists.
Once completed, participants will have a basic understanding and knowledge of sampling, editing, mixing, tempos, song selection, sequencing and composition. There will also be a component on copyright issues and Creative Commons, and participants will have a SoundCloud account set-up so they can promote their track.
This one-day workshop is for music students and anyone interested in learning how to use Ableton Live.
