The world famous New Zealand Army Band will take to the stage in Matamata, Tauranga and Whakatane for their Evening Concert Series this November. The theme of the concert is ‘Hometown Heroes’ as they are featuring an emerging local talent in each town visited as well as generously donating half of the profits from each concert to the local brass band.
The featured soloists will be:
Matamata - Jessica Schweizer (flugel horn)
Tauranga - Joe Thomas (bass trombone)
Whakatane - Luke Spence (euphonium)
The program will entertain and impress with a wide variety of music ranging from classical and big band to brass band, show tunes and pop. The band boasts several fine vocalists and a number of world-class brass soloists in their thirty-strong ensemble and many of these will be featured during the evening.
