Three artists explore painting media to express their unique voice in a solo exhibition of new paintings at Corban Estate Arts Centre Gallery.
Each Working Head Imprisons the Legitimate:
Arie evaluates the limitations of figurative painting and linear thinking, and questions the boundaries of identity and visual recognition by incorporating unnatural colours and replacing physical features with patterns.
Many millions of people use social media to interact with each other on a daily basis. Like-Comment-Share entertains the idea that we are using digital relationships as a virtual balm, self-medicating our way through a new emotional landscape.
Andrew Blythe is a self-taught artist whose work is supported by Toi Ora Live Art Trust. Andrew has found a voice in painting, a very expressive language, involving a process of repetition and constant discovery creating a maze of words, marks or colours allowing us to step into his world.
