An evening of live musical performances utilising the latest technologies (and a few relics) to explore new relationships between sound and image.

New media wizards The Interrupt Collective will invite guest percussionists and dancers to use their interactive installation The Light Parade as a giant musical instrument, while performances by Sam Hamilton and Glass Vaults experiment with projection, light and sound engineering.

Sam Hamilton is a recipient of the Arts Foundation New Generation Award 2011. His background in sound art, experimental music, performance and composition have led to a practice that now borders on the spheres of ‘popular' music.

Glass Vaults is an ambient three-piece band who use washed textures and rhythmic ballads in live performances that simmer with turbulence. For the New Media New Music Series this popular Wellington act will experiment with old lighting effects to go with their new sound.

Held on the Wellington Waterfront - near Te Papa.
