Nelson's first and only farmers' market is located at Fashion Island in Hardy St. This offers inner city convenience, with plenty of parking nearby.
The Nelson market is designated "A Farmer's Market" which means that produce is grown by the farmer presenting it for sale, and that it was grown locally. This ensures fresh, high quality produce is brought to the consumer at a reasonable price.
Everybody gains with this unique consumer-farmers market place. The consumer understands the importance of environmentally friendly, locally grown food and the farmer, with consumer feedback, is able to diversify and gear production to the needs of the marketplace.
