Lincoln University’s Ecology Department invites primary school pupils, family and whānau to join staff and students at its nature picnic.
Venue: On our campus lawn (between the library and the George Forbes building adjacent to the bus stop)
What’s on: Fun activities include worm charming, throwing flax darts, animal face painting and more*
How to get here: The no. 81 bus from Christchurch will bring you right to the door. There is also plenty of parking on-site through Gate 3.
* Make sure you don’t miss:
11.00am – 3.00pm: Ten stations with fun nature activities and a self guided walk around our beautiful campus
11.00am – 12.00pm: Experts available to identify your bug or plant brought from home
11.30am: Scavenger hunt
12.00pm :Professor Steve Wratten on the library steps: ‘Get to know the good beasties in your garden’
1.00pm: Bike ride – 2km each way on off-road tracks to organic farm (bring your own bike and helmet)
2.00pm: Dr Timothy Curran -‘Tropical turtles and python poo’.
