Featuring works by John, Charles, Samuel and Samuel Sebastien Wesley.
Explore the family tree of England's oft forgotten musical dynasty. From brothers Charles and John (co - founders of the Methodist movement) to Charles' son, Samuel, affectionately remembered as the English Mozart to his son, Samuel Sebastien Wesley, named in admiration after Bach, who held the post of Organist and Choir Master at Hereford, Exeter, Winchester and Leeds Cathedrals.
Music of The Wesleys will feature prominently the Johannus Monarke organ of St.Peters and John Wells, leading NZ organist as guest artist:
English born John Wells is a graduate of Cambridge University where he was an organ scholar at Kings College Chapel under David Willocks. He received his organ performance doctorate with high distinction from Indiana University after studies with Dr. Oswald Ragatz.
He is well known as a concert performer, composer, recording artist and teacher. Tours have taken him to Australia, England, Poland, Germany, France and North America.
