Adesh Widmer
Swiss-born Adesh studied Indian classical music under the late P.V. Nandasiri, one of the most gifted musicians in Sri Lanka at the time. Specialising in the music of maestro Sri Chinmoy, Adesh is creating new kinds of scales and ragas and improvises with them in the classical Indian style.

Sadanand MaGee

Sahadeva Torpy

In May 2011 the orchestra performed alongside Boris Grebenshikov, the great singer and songwriter from Russia, for a special concert in Rekjavik, Iceland.

Shamita Achenbach

She conducts master classes on a regular basis and performs throughout Europe and North America with the Vienna Bach Solists, Vienna Concert-Verein (chamber orchestra of the VSO).

Bhoiravi Achenbach
A young but brilliantly accomplished classical musician from Austria. Bhoiravi has been studying at the University of Music in Vienna with Eugenia Polatschek and taking master class with Rainer Kußmaul (former Concertmaster of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra). She was winner of the Prima la Musica violin competition.

Bhoiravi was a participant of the Young Academy in Vienna (Karajan Centre/Music-University Vienna). From October 2007 to 2010 she studied with Igor Ozim and since then has been a student in the master class of Klara Flieder at the Mozarteum Salzburg.

Music of the Heart draws from the meditative compositions of the prolific Indian spiritual master Sri Chinmoy, who saw music as a unifying, universal language that brings people together, and spiritual music in particular as having the potential to greatly contribute to world peace. His vast musical legacy includes an astounding 21,000 songs and is highly regarded by many of the world’s leading musical luminaries.

A maestro on his favourite instrument, the esraj, musician-composer Sri Chinmoy offered over 700 peace concerts globally during his remarkably creative life.

‘Sri Chinmoy’s sublime spiritual mastery reveals through music the infinite vastness of the universe as an intimate sanctuary of the soul’ wrote Free Spirit Magazine; and Roberta Flack commented “Sri Chinmoy’s music is a magical flow deep down in your heart of hearts.”

Seats can be reserved by phoning (09) 309 1136 or by obtaining tickets in person from The Blue Bird Cafe, 299 Dominion Road, Mt. Eden, Auckland.
