Strange Fruit performing live. This is jazz to go with your favourite wine, easy on the ear and music to entice concert goers. Strange Fruit have been together for more than a decade and audiences are in for a treat. Supported by Raag Time.
Raag Time:
The band has a unique sound and improvisational style that is inspired by elements of Indian music, Western classical music and jazz. They perform a mix of jazz standards, Bollywood tunes, original compositions based on Indian Ragas, songs by leading Indian jazz and fusion musicians like Louiz Banks and Niladri Kumar and also pop classics by the Beatles, Sting, Stevie Wonder, etc.
The band comprises of Ben Fernandez (piano), Basant Madhur (tabla), Kushal Talele (bass guitar and saxophone), Surbhi Sharma (Indian violin), Balamohan (male vocals), Moushumi (female vocals). They also sometimes feature guest artistes on sitar, mridangam and flute.
