Traffic light, fridge light, bedside light, moonlight, torch light, street light, strobe light, sunlight... whether we notice it or not, light is all around us!

MOTAT is removing all traces of darkness and lighting up your life with its new January Holiday Experience. This fascinating family day out will explain the mysteries of light and reveal just how much it is used in everyday life.

MOTAT Museum Director, Jeremy Hubbard said the January Holiday Experience will be awe-inspiring, a lot of fun and will answer some burning questions around light and how it comes about.

“It’s amazing what we don’t know about light and what there is to learn about its uses. When we realise its true potential, we can use it for a multitude of things that wouldn’t come to mind.

“MOTAT works hard to provide fun, unique and educational school holiday experiences and activities, and this one is no exception,” Mr Hubbard said.

Amongst other exciting activities, MOTAT is inviting visitors to ignite their imaginations at ‘Light Fever,’ a musical dance floor inside a giant inflatable cube. Kids will also get the chance to see what they can uncover using UV light exploring the Tactile Dome in the dark.

Kids can transmit messages with Morse code symbols of light, follow the Trail of Light to crack the MOTAT mystery riddle and make a shadow puppet and perform in a shadow puppet show.

The January Holiday Experience runs from 3 - 30 January 2012, so be sure to check it out and learn all about the magic of light!
