Course content:
To present the ideas and concerns of the course in a sculptural way. Using sculpture as the language students will identify a motivating idea and work over the week to modify and render this idea for viewing.
Materials will be found and sourced, bought to the event by participants and/or gathered at the start of the Summer Do.
Tutor profile:
Whangarei - born Charlotte Fisher is a graduate of Auckland University’s Elan School of Fine Arts. Fisher lives and works as a practicing sculptor in Auckland, exhibiting regularly and contributing works to public and private collections around the country. Fisher creates her organic, abstract forms with bought, salvaged or donated demolition or recycled wood combined with found natural objects. The resulting works are simple, primitivistic explorations of form, scale and solidity.
A selection of Charlotte's work will be on display in the Whangarei Museum’s 15th Anniversary exhibition over the time of the Summer Do.
