Maui's Dolphin March‏

New Zealand is home to the world's smallest and rarest marine dolphin. But Maui's dolphin is in very real danger of extinction with new reports putting its entire population at only 55.

The Government has responded by proposing two interim protection measures until it can complete a full review later this year. But they are not strong or urgent enough and will leave Maui’s dolphins at risk from being caught and killed in fishing nets.

We're holding a march this Saturday, a funeral march for Maui's dolphins as there are only 55 left. We're calling for better protection of the dolphins.

Please join us. Assemble at 10:30 at Kumeu Arts Centre (behind Kumeu Library, plenty of parking) to walk to John Key's electorate office.

Wear black and bring a cut out dolphin to leave John Key a dolphin graveyard. That's what we'll have off the West Coast without better protection.
