This 9th annual Matariki gathering to celebrate the harvest and new year planting season has grown into a major winter festival attracting thousands.
There's a huge variety of ethnic foods on offer and kiwi kai such as steamed mussells, hangi, hot dogs and chips.
Entertainment features a whole range of multi-cultural artists from the region. There's the Beyonce "Move Your Body" dance contest for youngsters. Learn the routine from Youtube to win $50 phone top ups.
Take a free workshop. Learn to weave flax, carve soapstone or make a lantern on the night and join a wonderful lantern procession leading into a spectacular fireworks finale.
Free kiddies rides and games all night.
