The 13th Annual Mangawhai Walking Weekend - 80mins north of Auckland.
Dates:
Thursday 29th March - Dunns Bush Track;
Friday 30th March - Troubadour Trail - an afternoon at the beach with professional entertainment;
Saturday 31st March - 18 different walks to choose from. Local food and wine event with JamesRAy country music;
Sunday 1st April - 17 different walks to choose from. Art Trail open all weekend.
All walks are guided, with a wide range of abilities catered for. Visit a new part of the country and get to know the locals. Almost all walks are over private property so not usually available. Walk the Brynderwyn Hills with intense bush, visit wineries and avocado orchards, observe magnificent views, climb the sand hill, learn of the endangered fairy terns and their habitat and the endangered Te Arai beach with the dotterels, go by boat to see the work of the Harbour Restoration Group, take the chance to abseil in the Waipu Caves, experience some history of the area and amble around Jane Mander country.
Come with friends for the weekend or alone. You will be welcomed and have a great time. Mangawhai has plenty of accommodation. Book early as numbers are limited on each walk.
Maria O'Flaherty, Aaron Coddell and Jonas Julio will perform on the Troubadour Trio, among others. This trio of professional musicians perform a cool mix of jazz and Latin.
All information is on the web page.
