Mandy Pickering - The Heart Strings Concert

Experience the magical ‘Heart Strings’ concert, performed by ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ winner, Mandy Pickering and her talented band. Relax with friends and enjoy this beautiful concert while taking in views of the stunning Auckland harbour and receive complimentary glass of wine/beer and canapés… all in support of the Christchurch arts scene.

The 'Heart Strings' concert will celebrate a collection of guitars handcrafted using timber from many historic buildings that fell in the Canterbury earthquakes. It will also tell the story of the special 'Kia Kaha' guitar, which commemorates those who lost their lives during the February 22nd Canterbury earthquake and is now featured in the Canterbury Museum. All money raised from the Heart Strings project will go to the Christchurch Arts Community via Creative New Zealand.

Mandy will be performing songs from her debut album and promoting her new original songs that will feature on her upcoming second album. Mandy and her band have performed with the Heart Strings guitars around the country to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim; "Pickering is more than a pretty face, she can really, really sing. She and her band delivered a show which was heart-warming and touched the audience in very special ways."

Bruce Pickering, creator of the Heart Strings guitars, will be at this concert along with Christchurch musician and co-founder of the Heart Strings project, Jason Pickering. Mandy will be accompanied by talented musicians Brad Banks and Jo Barus from Christchurch band 'Dukes', Jason Pickering and Anna Whitaker.

$49 ticket includes a glass of wine or beer and canapés on arrival. Doors open at 3pm.
