Our open mic nights are aimed towards anyone who has an interest in musical theatre. Basically, you sing any theatre song you want with a live pianist, just like karaoke, but better!

Generally we have this night on the first Sunday of each month, however sometimes this may change. Please check our Facebook page, or official website (https://sites.google.com/site/lullabiesauckland/) for details of our next event.

Now is the time to:
- Try out new songs on a supportive audience;
- Practice an audition song before the big day;
- Belt out a number you've always loved but wouldn't be considered right for (just to prove everyone wrong!);
- Mix and mingle with all the Musical Theatre friends you already know!
- Come and hear the latest and freshest talent from around Auckland - including sneak previews of cast members from upcoming musicals.

Guest pianist: Please check our Faceboook/website.
Guest MC: If you would like to be MC for the night, please email lullabiesofbroadwayauckland@gmail.com.

Age restrictions: As this is a bar, you have to be 18+ to enter it. If you are under 18, you can only get in if your parent or legal guardian is with you (no sisters/brothers etc). You will be checked for ID.

Gold coin donations in the open mic jar will be taken as the evening progresses - Please don't be stingy with this - we have an amazing calibre of pianist and they will be giving up their time to be there for you and your songs.

There can never be too much sheet music. Please bring your sheet music libraries with you!

We've been continuing the tradition of having the "coffee table of choice" where everyone can just dump their extra scores and sheet music books for others to look through and choose songs from - just make sure yours is in a folder or well marked so if you leave it behind we know whose it is!

Roughly 3-5 sets. If we run out of time in a set, whoever hasn't sung is at the top of the next set's list. (If this occurs in the last set - you will be first up the next mic night).

Registration is always half an hour before each set and is only for that set. We will be operating on a first come, first registered basis.

One song per person per set. The aim is to give everyone a go and to support all our performers, we want to see new talent and new songs! (Unless we find ourselves in the boat of having extra song slots to fill but puh-lease, this is musical theatre people we are talking about).

All you need is sheet music! A live pianist will be there for you to play your song. However I'm sure they won't mind a break if you have a backing track on CD or your own backing band - make sure you mention this to the MC when you register.

This event is fun for most of us - however we do need to pay the lovely pianist who agrees to give up hours of their time to play for us. To this end, we ask that everyone (whether you are a performer or an audience member) contribute (at the very least) a gold coin donation to the open mic "jar" to help keep this event running.
