An illustrated talk about the 800 year old apse mosaic of St Clement's Church in Rome. Both Isaiah and Jesus use the imagery of the vine for God's people (Isaiah 5:1-2, Matt 21:31-37). About 1200 AD an anonymous artist designed a mosaic around this theme. This vision of the Church inspires us to reflect on our own understanding of the place and nature of the Church in the world.
