LATE at the Museum: The Seven Deadly Sins - Wrath

Wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy and gluttony - in 2012, the LATE at the Museum series explores the seven deadly sins, how they play out in modern life, whether they still belong on the list and the social, economic and environmental repercussions of these base human tendencies. In 2012 are our “sins” more grievous, more extreme than they once were, or are they just better publicised?

Technology has moved on while human tendencies remain - is the evolution of new technology one of the enablers for sin? After the smart talk with local and international commentators and experts, be entertained by artists, musicians, actors and dancers against the incredible backdrop of Auckland Museum.

This LATE, join moderator Finlay Macdonald and panellists Professor Michael Corballis, Dr Janet Fanslow and Ruia Aperahama as they discuss whether New Zealand is an angry society and if so, why?

Our media and our prison population tell us we are. Our national sports are physical and often violent. Do we infact celebrate wrath and its corollary anger?

Following the discussion, enjoy performances from "Songs from the Inside" artists Ruia Aperahama and Maisey Rika and a collaboration between sonic band Gang Violins with beat poet Shane Hollands.
