Northland Sinfonia with the Whangarei Choral Society

A concert of new and popular classical British music with the traditional "Last Night" sing along favourites - including "Rule Britannia", "Jerusalem" and "Land of Hope and Glory".
Additionally we bring you music seldom previously heard - Haydn Wood's "Royal Castles Suite" as well as the world premier of local composer Olga Parshotam's Viola Concerto with her son, Aroon as soloist.
Importantly we also showcase the new orchestration of Haydn Wood's choral work "Lochinvar". This piece, last heard with orchestra in 1939, had no extant orchestral score or parts. John Dylan, the talented Whangarei musician and composer, re-orchestrated it from the piano score with the blessing of the Haydn Wood Society. We hear this performed with the Whangarei Choral Society.
