Landscape painting: traditions and beyond
Tutor: Kirsty Porter
Landscape painting has long been the canon of imagery depicted in the tradition of painting. But how can landscape painting be relevant in our contemporary age? Join us on this six-week course and walk through the basics of landscape painting: composition, proportion, perspective, basic oil paint technique, colour theory and how to tackle the production aspect of painting. Then let us take you further and help you to answer the questions about what makes a scene worth depicting, or using the power of subversion to create an image with potency. Suitable for beginners and those wishing to extent their current practice.
Six Thursdays, February 2 to March 8, 7 to 9pm.
Enrolments at Ochre Art Supplies, 47 The Square, Palmerston North, open Monday to Friday 9-5pm, Saturday 9-2pm, or email ochrearts@xtra.co.nz.
Ochre Art Supplies is closed from 25 December to 10 January.
