Did the Pink Terraces survive the 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera?
Dr Cornel de Ronde, geologist and geochemist with GNS Science, will discuss the wealth of information gathered from a recent sonar and seismic survey of Lake Rotomahana's floor to back up last year's findings that a substantial portion of the Terraces do still exist.
Entry to talk $5 in addition to admission to Museum, which is free for Rotorua residents with ID.
Special combined talk and Museum entry for non-Rotorua residents: $20 (save $3).
