One of the few traditional country sports days still held in NZ, featuring shearing and highland dancing competitions and vintage machinery at this day out for the whole family.
For the kids there's Miss Kowai & Mr Muscle, Preschoolers Fancy Dress and Baby show, Cycle races and "The Big Battle" with paper swords. The whole family can join in the running and sack races.
After an absence of several years, we are delighted to announce the return of Harness Racing to the Kowai Family Gala. Enjoy the spectacle and if you're lucky your bet could pay!
