The Kapiti Miniature Railway are holding their annual Open Weekend. This is an opportunity for visiting locomotives to visit from other NZ Model Engineering clubs.
This is a rare opportunity to see these marvellous models and enjoy taking the children for a ride. Why not make a day of it? There is a lovely park and playground, a duck shaped paddling pool, a very safe beach next door. There is also a hotel, fish & chip shops and other stores and food outlets just across the road. In the park there is loads of space for the children to run around and burn up that energy.
On the Saturday there is also being held the Big Dig competition on the beach and on Sunday morning the Kapiti Women's Triathlon.
We expect the Daisy face painter on the Saturday and other entertainment still being arranged.
