Julia Deans

Enjoy a solo evening with Julia Deans (Fur Patrol) and special guest Mike Hall (Nightchoir) in the old Mt Eden Hall (aka The Village Centre). This is a great opportunity to hear one of our finest female vocalists and accomplished songwriters, in an intimate yet convivial setting. Julia wowed the crowd with her great songs, wonderful voice and simple accompaniment at the recent Waiheke International Jazz Festival and we are proud to have her perform for us.

We also welcome Mike Hall to the Village Music stage (or turkish rug as it is). Mike Hall played bass with Pluto for almost a decade and lent his talents to others including The Brunettes, Dimmer and Anna Coddington before forming Nightchoir in 2009. Nightchoir draw on the gentler edge of musical genres, including alt-country, indie-pop, and folk. Their beautiful, melodic tunes have seen them receive rave reviews. The songs fit well in an intimate setting and Mike has performed several shows solo throughout the country.
