Iris Show

A dazzling array of irises on display in colours that will have you wondering what combinations are around the corner. A variety of irises that are flowering at this time of the year will be exhibited, including tall bearded and their smaller cousins, the intermediate bearded and maybe some median bearded irises. A smaller selection of Siberian irises, spurias, louisiana, evansia and Pacific coast irises will also be on display.

Entry is free, but you will not be able to resist buying a raffle ticket or two. The Rangitikei branch of the NZ Iris Society will have sales tables with a wide range of irises, including tall bearded and the delightful Pacific coast irises.

Anyone is welcome to exhibit an iris(es) (no entry fee) they have grown in their garden in either the bearded, non-bearded and NZ-bred sections. Members will be available to help novices enter and exhibit their blooms.

Plant sales tables selling orchids, perennials and of course irises will tempt anyone who has a spare spot in the garden. Also on sale is fertiliser for growing irises, also suitable for peas, beans and strawberries - only $5 per kg.

Iris members will be available to answer any questions.
