Design writer and lecturer Michael Smythe gives an illustrated talk based on his book New Zealand By Design.

Michael will trace the essence of Kiwi, from ingenious Maori design through to the adopting and adaptation of early colonisation, to original creations and internationally successful products such as the Fisher & Paykel dish drawer, The Formway Generation chair and the Yike bike... and much more!

Michael will be available for book signings in the Gallery shop after the talk.
