Nik Brown's passionate violin playing, combined with the hot gypsy rhythms and soaring solos of the guitars makes for a passionate, exciting blend of jazz, paying homage to Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappeli in the style of the Hot Club of France.
Leigh Jackson has just returned from spending summer in Holland, France and Belgium studying and playing gypsy jazz with some of the best players in Europe.
Nick Granville is a very well known guitarist on the jazz scene for his involvement in his own trio and countless other projects, including the Wellington Jazz Orchestra.
Bass player George Packard is the foundation for the band and has been involved as an acoustic bass player with countless Wellington groups over a twenty year period. George is undoubtedly New Zealand's foremost expert at the "slap" technique on acoustic bass which is featured regularly in the band.
All in all this is one of the finest groups in New Zealand at the moment, playing its part in the Gypsy Jazz revival.
