The enduring influence of Henry Fuseli's imagination is the focus for this exhibition that combines a selection of the Gallery's world-famous Fuseli drawings with New Zealand artist Andrew McLeod's dark and detailed Fuseli Tribute I and II.

Horror, fear and an awe of the supernatural lay at the heart of the Sublime, but Romantic artists also drew on their own experiences and interests. Swiss-born Fuseli led the charge.

Discover here his many inspirations, from Homer and Virgil to Shakespeare, Spencer, Michelangelo and Piranesi, and witness the way he transformed the images of the mind's eye into hauntingly mesmerising artworks.

Please note this exhibition will be closed from 22-31 October, during which time it will be relocated to the level 1 corridor.

30 June 2012 - 20 January 2013
Level 1 exhibition spaces - free entry
