The Hare Krishna communities all over the world are famous for their beautiful Sunday Feast programmes. Here in Whangarei there is a newly-opened Hare Krishna Centre that holds a feast every Sunday.
You can expect to hear some mantra meditation (kirtan and bhajans), a short discourse or presentation of an aspect of Vedic philosophy and wisdom. Topics such as self-realisation, karma, reincarnation, and practical applications of a spiritual life in todays world will be presented and discussed. The afternoon will be concluded with a vegetarian feast.
There is no charge, but a gold coin donation is appreciated to help cover the costs of maintaining the programme and the Centre. Children are welcome and the programme is family-friendly. It is open for anyone and is non-sectarian. For those interested in philosophy, eastern spirituality, understanding the world and their place in it better, meditation, discovering the self and finding inner peace, or who simply like sharing good music, dance and tasty nutritious food amongst warm-hearted and friendly people, then the Hare Krishna Sunday Feast is well worth a visit.
Hare Krishna.
