Learn the basics of embroidery stitches – counted cross stitch, needlepoint and freehand embroidery.
You will start a sampler during the first lesson, and learn various basic stitches, how to transfer patterns onto fabric and the uses of different threads and fabrics.
You will be encouraged to make progress on your sampler between sessions - course participants may like to meet between sessions and do this together.
Bring $20 cash on the first night to purchase fabric and threads from tutor. You will also need an embroidery hoop (any size) and small, sharp, pointed scissors. Embroidery hoops are available for use during the sessions or may be bought for $8.00 from tutor, if you wish to take one home.
