Ever wanted to learn how to make cheese? Then this is the workshop for you.
- Learn how to make the best haloumi and ricotta cheese you have ever tasted;
- Intensely practical, get your hands fully immersed in the curds and whey (you get to make your own cheese, not just sit and watch a demonstration);
- Learn about the origins of cheese, milk and where to source it from;
- Learn about hygiene and the equipment required to make cheese at home;
- Take home some of the cheese you just made to show off - of course!
- All ingredients and equipment supplied;
- Cheese making supplies available to purchase at the end;
- Experience a fun day out at Trinity Farm;
- Groups of friends encouraged;
- No experience necessary.
Your tutor will be Alexis Murti from Otaki. Having been trained by the New Zealand cheese-master, Mindi Clews, Alexis has been making cheese for her family for over 2 years. She regularly holds cheese making workshops as well as facilitate team building events and private functions. A passionate cheese maker and cheese eater, she loves to pass on her knowledge to others.
The workshop will take place in the purpose built barn at Trinity Farm in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The barn is set in a spectacular country garden that features over 1000 heritage roses (many of which are available for sale).
What’s included?
- Tutoring & participation at the workshop;
- A full set of notes including recipes and instructions;
- All ingredients and equipment supplied;
