Event listed by: Julie Lamb

Julie Lamb Band (Lambinators), Merrin, Emma Davey & The Monks of Cool.

For the last 4 years, we have put on an event to support Breast Cancer Networks NZ. This year we have three incredible bands fronted by awesome women singers.

The Lambinators
Headlining is the Julie Lamb originals band, The Lambinators. A critically acclaimed songwriter, Lamb performs songs from both of her albums with the backing of a cast of trillions... well it looks like it from out front anyways! The feedback from her latest album launch has been inspiring! And her album is gaining traction. One song has been chosen for rotation on US radio station Butterflies Radio, and another has been selected for inclusion on an Australian compilation album. Come and see the band strut their stuff, you know there'll be laughter! www.julielamb.co.nz

Support is provided by:

Merrin:
"Sultry, soul-infused rock with a Tina Turner, Evanescence and No Doubt explosion". Merrin's first single "Bleed" is ramping up the audience charts, and their international popularity is rising along with it! Not only that but they're damn good! In the space of a few months, merrin have grown from an acoustic duo to a 5-piece electric band, finished an EP and featured in various events such as annual underground rave The Forest (1,000+), the Island bay festival (10,000+) and Carols by Candlelight in Wellington (15,000+). As you can see from the momentum, these cats mean business. Are you ready to be merrinaised? Good! These guys will hit the stage at 10pm! www.merrin.co.nz

Emma Davey and The Monks of Cool:
If Robert Plant and Maxine Sullivan had a love child, Emma Davey would be it! It has been said that she could sing the phone book and make it sound good! True story! Just as at home belting Immigrant Song as she is singing Skylark, her original music reflects her ability to traverse a wide variety of music. Never a dull moment! She comes with a stonkingly good band and gorgeous backing vocalists. Emma kicks of the night at 9pm sharp.

Poem for Me Mum...
I miss you mama every day I wake in the morning and think of you. I see you smile in your own quiet way and I reach for your dear face. I think of you mama all the time. I know it’s a life for living but like fine wine it was better with you in it. So I set up this concert for the cause you chose to show that I too want to fight the reason you left. And maybe, just maybe, even tomorrow there’ll be one less person in the world bereft... damn cancer… I know! I know! it’s a word not a sentence! But I miss you mama every day and so while we fought that damn word with every breath it feels like a paragraph... even a novel… of loss... to me jl2010
